Delco Remy Alternator Problem 94 amps?
If the generator above installed on a Perkins 4-108 that burned after 10 years can not complain! This unit replaced a 50 amps to give me more power load. I have three other parts of the intensities and are all identical and all the Delco-Remy. When I pulled the burned there was a green wire coming out of the back of the unit which is attatched to one of the windings on the block inside and connected to a green wire on the harness. I replaced the unit with a spare neither of them have the green wire coming out of the back, now I have not read the speedometer? The strange thing is that one three parts have been replaced by the receiver 94 and none of this thread coming back. Each unit has the normal pos / neg terminal and the two connectors of the sensor, but none this thread strange? Any help?
Looks like they used a tachometer outboard which is driven alternator. On a speedboat they used to use half of the pulse c aa / read rpm. Sounds like they did the same thing here. Since you do not have an ignition system, other than a tachometer cable drive, they use pulse c aa /. Take your old and new alt to rebuild shop, they should be able to add it.
