Is John Deere going to quit making their leaf blowers and weedeaters?
One of the local John Deere dealerships told me they were running low on weed eaters and blowers because John Deere was going to quit making them. Anyone know anything about this? I cant imagine them doing that.
John Deere purchased Homelite. Oftentimes homelite equipment says "by John Deere" on it. However, I do believe that Stihl is taking over for John Deere. That is what my local dealer said also. They also carry Shindaiwa tho too which I dont like.
First of all, JD never made it's own hand-held equipment. It was supplied by several other manufacturers under the JD logo. It was Echo at first, then replaced by Homelite, then Emak or so I think.
A few years ago JD signed a mutual agreement with Stihl as their supplier, though this time the name stays the same. Your local JD dealership now also offers Stihl products as part of their hand-held equipment sales.
